OI 3 - Shutdown Procedure

CAUTION ⚠ Only lift Spot with two people. The combined robot-arm assembly weighs nearly 90 pounds and is not ergonomic.

OI 3.1 - Shutdown Instructions

  1. Walk Spot to charging, storage, or transport location. Always walk Spot instead of carrying it whenever possible.
  2. Place arm into the 'Stow' pose using the tablet controller.
  3. Using the controller, have Spot sit (or roll over per OI 4.2.2). Power off motors.

  1. Engage the motor lockout button. The button should turn off from slowly flashing red. The power button should remain blue.
  2. Power off the robot by pressing and holding the power button for two seconds.
  3. Select controller's Disconnect option.
  4. Return the robot to its case per OI 4.5 if robot is not being stored in the designated lab location.
  5. Enter the time the robot was put away on the Spot Usage Log.
  6. Set up batteries so that they are fully charged for the next user.

  1. Lock the tablet with the button shown below

  1. Return the tablet to the desk and plug it in.
