OI 6 Network Configuration

- Power on Spot per OP 2.
- Go to your computer’s WiFi settings, and select Spot’s WiFi access point from the list.
- Log in to the WiFi network using the following credentials:
- Username: TBD
- Password: TBD
- Use a Chromium web browser to navigate to Spot’s IP: https://192.168.80.3/
- Select ‘Advanced’ then ‘Proceed’ on the Spot Admin Console page that appears.
- Log in with the admin credentials:
- Username: TBD
- Password: TBD
This mode is faster than WiFi, and should be used for transferring large files. An Ethernet cable is kept in LOCATION TBD.
- Power on Spot per OP 2.
- Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the robot’s rear Ethernet port, and the other end to your computer.
- Manually set the IPV4 network adapter setting to share the same subnet as Spot.
- Set the static IPv4 address to 10.0.0.X, where X can be any number between 1 and 254.
- Set the IPv4 subnet mask to 255.255.255.0
- Apply the settings.
- Ping the robot’s IP address (10.0.0.3)
- If the ping fails, double check the Ethernet address information by connecting with WiFi and examining the Ethernet tab in ADMIN CONSOLE > Network Setup
- Use a Chromium web browser to navigate to Spot’s IP: https://192.168.80.3/
- Select ‘Advanced’ then ‘Proceed’ on the Spot Admin Console page that appears.
- Log in with the admin credentials:
- Username: TBD
- Password: TBD
- Access the Spot Admin Console through the WiFi address per instructions above.
- Go to Network Setup > Ethernet
- Toggle on ‘Enable DHCP’ or enter a static address.
- Ensure that a DHCP reservation using Spot’s MAC address has been set up with DoIT.
- Set the DNS Nameserver to 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS)
- Enable ‘Is Current Default Route’.
- Select APPLY and confirm. A green confirmation box at the top of the page will appear, indicating that settings have applied.
Note: Spot has 4 internal IP networks. To avoid routing conflicts, the robot should not join an Ethernet or WiFi network in the following subnets:
- 192.168.0.0/24
- 192.168.50.0/24
- 192.168.80.0/24
- 192.168.1.0/24
- If using a computer:
- Access the Spot Admin Console through the Ethernet address per OI 6.1.2.
- Go to Network Setup > WiFi
- Change the WiFi Network Type from Access Point to Client Mode (Note: Spot's WiFi access point will no longer be available).
- Enter network name and password for the desired network.
- Toggle on ‘Enable DHCP’ or enter a static address.
- Ensure that a DHCP reservation using Spot’s MAC address has been set up with DoIT.
- Set the DNS Nameserver to 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS)
- Enable ‘Is Current Default Route’.
- Select APPLY and confirm. A green confirmation box at the top of the page will appear, indicating that settings have applied.
- Refresh the browser page and scroll down. Note the IPv4 address, Route Prefix, and Gateway.
- The IP address can now be used to connect wirelessly over the shared network.
- If using a tablet:
- Select ADD NEW ROBOT.
- Select the same WiFi network as Spot.
- Select + ADD ROBOT to add a robot by IP address.
- Enter the robot's IP address assigned by the shared network if using DHCP or the static address of Spot if not.

If using the Admin Console:
- Access the Admin Console through the Ethernet address per OI 6.1.2.
- Go to Network Setup > WiFi
- Change the WiFi Network Type from Client Mode to Access Point Mode.
- Select Apply, then Confirm.

If using the Motor Lockout Button (i.e. if you are in-person with the robot and Client and Ethernet settings have been misconfigured):
- Position Spot to be sitting down with motors powered off.
- Cycle the robot's Motor Lockout button three times for a total of six button presses:
- The red light on the Motor Power button must fully turn on/off between each press.
- Be sure to press the Motor Lockout button as shown below and not the Power Button.
