Roadmap
The following is a hopefully explanatory list of what I plan to accomplish in this mod, and the order that I will do it. Obviously, features may be switched around, or added, or dropped, but this is the general plan of the features.
This stage of development will mostly be making sure that the mod is playable. The content shouldn't be too "deep", or less features, but generally lays the foundations where we can just expand the existing features.
-
Bending
-
Actually implement radial menus and basic infrastructure of mod
-
Also involves a few basic abilities
-
Mostly finished by alpha 1.0 (Except for bugs)
-
Skills
-
See also: Progression Update
-
Partially implemented in a2.0
-
Player gain XP for bending
-
Increased by bending, or special activities (e.g. firebenders go to nether for extra XP??)
-
Allows unlocking of abilities, or strengthening of existing ones
-
Player identity
-
Players are born with a nation/culture which determines what they can bend
-
Some players might be non benders??
-
Player(s) might be the AVATAR??
-
Avatar state, with its own bending menu (for avatar-related things)
After alpha, beta will flesh out the areas of the mod, adding all the features that people would expect. Therefore, beta will ensure that the mod allows lots of playtime.
Keep in mind, the exact order of which these will be added is very uncertain. I expect beta will take a while.
-
Earthbending
-
All earthbending abilities
-
Blocks for earthbenders to build with
-
Firebending
-
All firebending abilities
-
A few redstone mechanisms for firebenders? (remember industrialization?)
-
Waterbending
-
All waterbending abilities
-
Airbending
-
All airbending abilities
-
Gliders
-
Bloodbending
-
Sounds like fun
-
Must master waterbending first
-
Should be underpowered compared to TV show, otherwise it will be overpowered.
-
Metalbending
-
Must learn some earthbending first
-
Can bend metal blocks or even items
-
Other players can 'purify' metals (not sure how), which will reduce the effectiveness of metalbending
-
Sandbending???
-
I have no idea how this would fit into Minecraft, but it sounds cool.
-
Water healing
-
Self explanatory
-
Only a few players would be good at it- healers would be important for group play
-
Takes a lot of practice
-
Combustion man
-
In case you didn't know, the scientific name for him is 'sparky-sparky-boom-man'.
-
Icebending
-
Must learn some waterbending first
-
Freeze/melt water
-
Shoot ice spikes, and other nasty things
-
Lightning bending
-
Must master firebending first
-
Only a few players can lightning-bend, which makes them useful for group play
-
Might not be able to lightning-bend through water
-
Animals
-
Animals from the TV show.
-
Not sure how to fit it in, without having to create a whole avatar world
API for add-ons
The mod would be done, so there wouldn't be any more features.
