Agenda

  • Welcome [jkl, 5’]
  • Acceptance of minutes [jkl, 2’]
  • Secretariat Updates [am, 5’]
  • Review FT22-1 proposals

Notes

Proposals

Valid (ready for FT22-1)

  1. table 1-01-05: replace Permafrost with three new variables
    • Validated
  2. Table 1-02: New measurement unit "metres per year"
    • Validated
  3. Table 1-02: Add missing unit to supersede mg_m-3_25C
    • Validated
  4. Table 1-01-01 radionuclide codes
    • Validated
    • Discussion
      • Joerg: DWD expert is recommended for comments, Stakeholders: to have formal representation from CTBT, the procedure to get involved other experts is still not so clear
  5. 1-01-01 addition of greenhouse gas variables from WDCGG
    • Validated

In Validation

  1. 1-06-01 New code list "Domain"

    • Discussion
      • Joerg: we are waiting for feedback from GOOS.
      • Meulen: IOC should be reached as a stakeholder; (Enrico: we have an IOC contact)
      • John: Compared with domains that are separated in OSCAR/RRR, the definition is of more importance and needs improvement.
      • The team agrees to park it and finalize it in the next FT, and to expand the definition to address saline lakes in the hydrological category.
  2. 5-02-01 Lidar in Measurement/Observing Method (atmosphere)

    • Discussion
      • The team agree to replace the observation by measurement, and also to "keep particle phase".
      • Gao points out the comments from ET-UAM (Upper-air Measurement) didn't really understand and focus a lot of the CURRENT rows, not the NEW ones (to be proposed to replace the CURRENT rows). Gao will review the table changes from ET-UAM and come back with a report including what is to be accepted or rejected.
      • John mentions that it should be consistent with the observation layer.
      • Meulen provides the information about the list of ET-UAM members who responded to the review. The team agrees that Secretariat will coordinate with this team to thank their contribution and to discuss the changes they proposed.
  3. 2-02 programs additions and updates

    • Discussion
      • OceanOPS team provides the feedback ASAP, no later than early January.
  4. 1-01-01 addition of new atmospheric variable (lidar, ceilometer)

    • Not Discussed

In Progress

NOT DISCUSSED

  1. New table 5-02-03: Measurement/observing method (ocean)
  2. 1-01-x Re-concile variable lists of OSCAR/Requirements with the official WMD codelists
  3. 1-01-01 additional variables (mostly originating from EBAS)
  4. 1-06-02 New code list "Matrix"
  5. 1-01-05 new entries and revision for hydrology domain
  6. Create new table: time zones
  7. Table 5-02-01: new methods of observation (for atmospheric variables)
  8. 5-02-05 Methods for Terrestrial domain - new terms for hydrology

Submitted

NOT DISCUSSED

  1. 2-02 Programs/Joerg: to add more details into Consultations Add name and affiliation/networks: addition of space component
  2. New table 5-02-04: Measurement/observing method (outer space)
  3. New table 5-02-02: Measurement/observing method (earth)
  4. 1-01-01 Atmospheric variables
  5. 6-01-02 Creation of a new code table RelativeHumidity
  6. 1-02: Align plurality of units with SI conventions
  7. 1-02 Measurement Unit: Improve definition of year
