Reporting Facility Scenarios

kboone edited this page Apr 7, 2020 · 1 revision

We want to look at different scenarios to ensure that the solution proposed covers the needs of different types of hospital facilities that report data.

Comprehensive EHR

In this scenario, the hospital has a singular comprehensive EHR solution that covers all care areas of the hospital, including the emergency department, ICU, acute/inpatient wards, and labor and delivery, and operating rooms.

Modular/Departmental Solution

In this scenario, the hospital is working with different solutions to support care delivery in their hospital, ICU, labor and delivery (including NICU) setting, and the emergency department, and a separate solution for bed management in the inpatient settings, and an Operating Room management system.

Critical Access Hospital

In this scenario, we will consider the special needs of critical access hospitals. These are facilities with a small number of beds (< 25), limited staffing (perhaps only one physician or PA and one nurse), and limited IT resources and likely network bandwidth. A small number of Critical Access Hospitals have ICU capabilities, and these are not always separate from acute beds.
