Eosinophils are granular leukocytes with a nucleus that usually has two lobes connected by a slender thread of chromatin. The cytoplasm contains coarse, round and uniform granules stainable by eosin. 1 Eosinophils are a type of disease-fighting white blood cell. This condition most often indicates a parasitic infection, an allergic reaction or cancer. 2

In the literature, we find that eosinphils make up 1 - 3% 3, 0 - 6% 4, or 2 - 5% of white blood cells 5. This information combined with a data-driven approach to empirically establish possible low and high values, leads us to choose 0 and 7.
