Introduction

Void Shells are highways for Particles Bunches in your Large Hadron Collider setup.

Placement

Void Shells are placed next to each other along the horizontal trajectory of Particles Bunches.
Following the Scientist headache reduction act, vertical particle movement is no longer supported (and never was officially). Consequently, void shells will only connect horizontally to each others.

Only 3 void shells can connect directly to each other at any time. This is mostly because nobody has found an electromagnet design for a full cross section to work efficiently.

Variations

Variations are provided with opaque (plain) or transparent (glass) Void Shells. They're functionally equivalent.

Crafting

You can produce 6 Plain Void Shells with 2 Basic Plain Hull blocks, 2 Power Interfaces, and 2 Steel ingots.
You can produce 6 Glass Void Shells with 2 Basic Glass Hull blocks, 2 Power Interfaces, and 2 Steel ingots.
Depending on other mods installed, Steel can be replaced with Iron (no steel).

Usage

Without main electromagnets, particles will remain at the same speed but slowly deviate from their trajectory. Hence you want to add a few electromagnets every now and then for good measure.

At higher energy levels, Particle Bunches will emit radiation as they fly through the Void Shells. It's advised to remain a few blocks away to avoid such nuisance.

Tips and tricks

Since a Particles Bunch keeps its energy level while in a straight line of Void Shells, ones can build a larger ring with mostly Void Shells and upgrade it progressively by adding Electromagnets instead of constantly resizing it.

Particles Bunch can (involuntarily?) exit a Void Shell, flying freely through air and transparent blocks. Energy is slowly lost through radiations, affecting all nearby live beings. Needless to say, there's 'explosive' consequences from encountering a solid block or trying to re-enter a Void Shell.
