Starting a PhenoMeNal CRE via PhenoMeNal Portal
This tutorial is designed to help you set-up your cloud research environment (CRE) for data analysis using the PhenoMeNal Gateway Cloud Research Environment Portal. The users can choose to deploy the CRE on the PhenoMeNal cloud or cloud provider of their choice.
- Click on "Create Cloud Research Environment" or "CRE" or Sign-in tab on the main menu of the PhenoMeNal portal home page.
Note: The PhenoMeNal portal page can be accessed by clicking on the "portal" tab on the main menu of the PhenoMeNal project website.
- Click on "Continue" tab to sign in with ELIXIR AAI.
Note: The ELIXIR AAI is an authentication and authorisation infrastructure (AAI) provided by ELIXIR. It allows authentication through institution or through several oauth-compliant services (e.g., ORCID, Google, LinkedIn)
- Use your Google, LinkedIn, Orcid or Institutional account to login.
3a. Login using your Google account
- Enter your Google username and password
3b. Login using your LinkedIn account
- Enter your LinkedIn Credentials
- New users click Register to create an ELIXIR ID.
Note Returning users can link their existing LinkedIn account to access ELIXIR services.
- To register enter your "Name", "Email" and Username and click "Submit"
Login using your Orcid account
- Enter your Orcid account details
- Click "Yes, continue" to release your personal information. For details click the privacy policy for the EMBL-EBI Authentication Gateway.
- Click "I Agree" to agree to the terms and conditions.
Note: It is required that you are aware the Ethical, Legal and Social Implications (ELSI) requirements and use only anonymised data in any public PhenoMeNal CRE.
- Click on "Plus" tab.
- Select your Cloud provider: OpenStack, AWS or Google Cloud Platform for the CRE deployment. Alternately, choose PhenoMeNal Cloud, the free cloud service, to create your own CRE.
