cover image options for blog posts

The type of cover-image depends on what image you're using.
- using an image or PDF from the Lumber collection
- using an external image
- using an image from a Digital Collection
Use the objectid (lumber###) in the cover-image
field in the frontmatter of the post.
- NOTE: it's the same process for a PDF because a full-size jpg of the front page is generated in the
rake generate_derivatives
command, even with PDF files. So, you don't need to do anything special to use the front page of a PDF as a cover-image.
Copy and paste the URL into the cover-image
field in the frontmatter of the post.
This option is the most complicated because each digital collection is different. See the digital collections and paths FOR HARVESTER spreadsheet for more information about options for the collection you're using as the cover-image
.
- NOTE: the above spreadsheet is based on DDS' spreadsheet, digital collections and paths but edited specifically for the Harvester.
- NOTE: if a collection is has blank fields for "cover-image examples" or "Harvester include", it means that collection has not been tested yet. You can try to figure it out yourself, or contact Devin.
