The builds I've put together assume a few particular options for character creation as enabled by : namely, that ability scores are generated using the standard 27 point buy method, but that every character gets a feat at first level. I find this to be the most enjoyable combination for character creation, as it gives each character an extra opportunity for customization right out of the gate, while remaining on a more or less comparable power curve with the higher starting stat spread that typically results from rolling (or using Epic Point buy).
These builds are optimized for being able to take on the most challenging combat encounters while minimizing the chance of a total party kill. In 5th edition D&D and, by extension, Solasta, this means avoiding direct melee confrontations most of the time, because most enemies are fairly ineffective when not in melee range, whereas Player Characters can do nearly as much damage from range as they can up close.
As a result, you will see a heavy presence of area control, enemy movement and action debuffs, and ranged damage in these builds, and little melee; though part of minimizing the risk of death is being equipped to survive when Plan A fails or can't be executed, and so every character has strong personal defenses. Usually that means getting at least Medium Armor and Shield proficiency and the Shield spell, though there are some exceptions for characters that emphasize Dexterity and have other ways to evade damage without compromising their primary role (such as the Moonlit Warlock's invisibility).
I recognize that there are plenty of players for whom avoiding melee is not what they enjoy, and for whom doing a bunch of weapon damage and scraping through encounters by the skin of their teeth is more fun than grinding down incapacitated or immobilized enemies. If that's you, you might still want to include 1-2 of these builds in a party, but you probably don't want to fill a whole party with them. I suggest checking out @@Lyraele's excellent melee builds.
