Post-release tasks

  • Add final bits of docs to RM procedures for stable merge: https://github.com/freedomofpress/securedrop/issues/5326

    • For standard release procedure, we will recommend force push; we can always fall back to PR if needed

    • Kev will prepare small PR to update release procedures

  • Checklist on https://github.com/freedomofpress/securedrop/issues/5368 - probably only upgrade boxes left

  • Next release, SecureDrop 1.6.0, will be on August 25, 2020 - John will draft release timeline early, so translators know what to expect sooner

  • Mickael will be updating upgrade testing boxes

UX research

  • After standup, Kev/Mickael/Allie/Nina/Erik will be planning next round of read/unread research (Kev/Mickael will be doing user interviews with this org)
  • FYI, Nina has drafted UxR disclosure/consent notice doc, which we will aim to finalize before the next round of research: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_2WK7Z4k8rZMWr5V0mn47XAcHGNiBDZenohDrOlInY8/edit (currently FPF-only, but not especially sensitive; may become a public doc later)

Yesterday:

  • Discussions re: QLabel wrapping issue, considering a few workarounds. Agreed to wait on upstream for now, but we can consider workarounds if no upstream attention forthcoming.
  • Chatted w/ Mickael re: dev docs & building Qt from source.
  • Opened UX issue to track requirements for responsively scaling client viewport.
  • Opened draft PR for preview snippet of last reply.

  • Continue work on PR for preview snippet of last reply.
  • Will respond to Mickael's comments on Qt build docs.
