Status: EDR

Progress in the last month:

• EDR API Specification:
  • Progress on V1.1 Text and Schemas in publishing, all issues closed.
  • Progress on V1.2 (PubSub)
    • V1.2 Master branch aligned with V1.1.0
    • PubSub SWG revised Charter agreed, to be formally voted. Good represention of Charter members from across OGC
    • EDR API SWG pursuing faster deadline with API-EDR Part 2: PubSub
    • Several other topics identified and in GitHub projects: V1.2 improvements, possible Part 3: Summary stats and aggregation
• Outstanding Issues:
  • V1.2 PR needs updating for Core Part 1 and PubSub Part 2 rather than optional Core Conformance Class
• Outstanding Pull Requests:
  • Only V1.2 or V1.0.2 branches outstanding - should be deleted
• Compliance Test Suite: V1.1 delayed until at least 3Q2023
• API coordination:
  • Sprint Oct/Nov 2023, London
  • On-going with Connected Systems and Coverages
  • Need to engage with GeoDataCube
• Update other Documentation on GitHub:
  • Add link to MEDIN projects report and SWG response to this repo
  • Wiki pages, Readme to outline PubSub, mock-up demos, draft standard pages, etc

Plans for next month:

• Progress PubSub (Part 2)
• Progress V1.2: several themes
• Start work on Summary Stats and Aggregation (Part 3)

Outreach:

• Dates for regular telcos
• Consider review of Testbed 19 Engineering Reports ('geospatial in space')

Longer Term Plans:

• Non-breaking changes and enhancements: Tentative Version for Streaming response, maybe replaced by PubSub
• Version 2.x: Not envisaged, unless large scale re-alignments of all APIs planned. Certainly later than V1.3

Risks:

• Divergence of PubSub SWG Spec and EDR Part 2 spec
• Revamp and retro-fitting of schemas etc from API-Coverages might necessitate V2.0 with breaking changes
