Steering Committee 20210404 Minutes
Yan Song (NC State University Libraries) Lisa Carlucci, Jennifer, Mike (Equinox) Nathan Newey (University of Greenwich, UK) Andy Panayiotou (SirsiDynix)
Eric Hartnett
Yan informed the group about the need to update the version of JQuery used by CORAL—see https://github.com/coral-erm/coral/issues/683. Andy commented that there are other dependency updates needed—for example, updating CORAL to use PHP 8, which SirsiDynix is currently assessing. Andy suggested another corporate sponsor might wish to take a lead on the JQuery issue. Andy and Yan expressed concern that regression testing would likely be extensive due to the size of CORAL, and that a web developer with understanding of the differences in JQuery between current and proposed version would need to size the problem. Lisa proposed an Equinox engineer (Mike) might be able to look at the problem initially. Andy also suggested that Yan might approach other corporate vendors such as Biblibre for assistance. Mike joined the call at this point and agreed to do an initial review and update us at the next SC meeting.
Eric had earlier commented on the coral-admin list that there had been just two responses to the presenter survey for the planned virtual user group meeting. Andy suggested that corporate supporters might be able to attract additional volunteers by approaching customers directly. Lisa suggested we postpone the conference while attempting to recruit more volunteers, and in the meantime to run a shorter webinar in June using existing volunteers. A date was penned for a two hour webinar on June 9th at 10 AM Eastern time.
