Steering Committee 20221011 Minutes

Attendance: McGowan, Panayiotou, Rylander, Song, Tatterson

CORAL docker update/demo: Mike: Docker demo not ready. jQuery pull request is almost ready and Mike will be creating a pull request on Github.

Discussion about Jon’s students: these are post-grad students (coders) who want project work to add to their portfolios. They have knowledge that could assist in writing schemas and modules. Andy mentioned development work is available but they might need training. Students will need to have an understanding of PHP and MySQL. Who will mentor? Jon will schedule a meeting with students’ professor and include Yan, Andy and Mike to get more information and find out how they can be involved with CORAL.

November release update: The group discussed the process for releases. Yan pointed to the CORAL Release Procedure on Github for guidance. Some steps will need updating, but good place to start. Pull request for new release will need to be tested by a developer before the release can be finalized and announced.

The group discussed CORAL translations and decided to put on hold until after the release. Focus will be on release for now.

Rebecca mentioned project boards for organizing updates that will need to be made to CORAL documentation. Yan will create a project board for the November release and share with committee.

Video tutorial update: Rebecca shared suggestions from the Summit for tutorials and a link to a document created to collect ideas on the CORAL Drive. She will work with Jennifer on setting up Vimeo. Developer assistance needed to create a tutorial on CORAL installation, Jon agreed to help with this.

Reschedule November meeting: Due to conflict for some members, Yan will send out poll to reschedule November meeting.
