Steering Committee 20211012 Minutes
- JQuery update (Mike)
Mike (Equinox) reported that the jQuery upgrade has been completed in the Licensing module. Sarah from Texas A&M will work with developers to run the new version on a CORAL test server maintained at their institution. The committee discussed option to host code on CDN (Content Delivery Network) or store code in the repository. It was decided that hosting the code offered conveniences namely better security, potential for new versions to be pushed out to CORAL users and continued support for best practices updating jQuery. Equinox developers will begin jQuery work on Resources module followed by other modules in the next two months.
- PHP 8.x compatibility and MySQL10 #688 (Andy)
Brief report provided by Yan as Andy was not present. The committee determined that we would need to have plan in place to transition to PHP 8.x once the jQuery update is completed. SirisDynix has lost developers and will need to recruit help with the transition. Equinox has offered assistance with the transition.
- CORAL listserv hosting
Biblibre is no longer on SC. SC needs to decide what to do with CORAL listserv hosting. Yan will reach out to Biblibre to inquire about number of users in the CORAL listserv community. She will see about reviving the CORAL Slack channel as a replacement. Mike (Equinox) can assist with options for the Mailman list if needed.
- Updates from members
Yan asked is there was interest in a CORAL User group meeting at ER&L. Lisa (Equinox) expressed interest in participating and updating the community on jQuery upgrade. If meeting planned group talked about announcing on other listservs to reach CORAL users. Lisa (Equinox) suggested the committee add planning for the next CORAL Summit to the November agenda.
