Balancing Now and Future
I walk with two companions
The present in my hand
The future as a lantern
I place coins into soil
Planting not only for harvest years away
But for shade to rest beneath today
To save without living
Is to starve the root for sake of fruit
To live without saving
Is to watch the orchard wither in drought
So I learn the craft of balance
To sip from the cup today
While storing enough for tomorrow’s thirst
Each choice is a step forward
Each plan is a stone laid backward
One day the road I walk meets the path I lay
That moment when future-self greets present-self
Not an ending but a crossing
Where orchard and gardener rest as one
